THE STERN TRUTH: Business Unfiltered
Ep. 20 The Stern Truth: Money Mindset with Alma Tarelli
Mindset matters, especially when it comes to being an entrepreneur. Your strategic edge comes when you get to those limiting beliefs, embrace your fear, and run with it.
We welcome accountant Alma Tarelli to this episode of the Stern Truth. Alma has been an accountant for 23 years and shares her passion of a true winning mindset, especially when it comes to money.
She captivated the audience at the 2024 ONtrepreneur Growth Summit speaking about the scarcity and abundance mindset. Alma understands the fear that holds people back and the inner work that helps them become aware of patterns, exactly what she helps her clients do.
I go back to Episode Six, “I Will Win” to note how similar our messages are. “I will win when”. The personal, transformative growth comes when you finally make a decision and stop playing the Waiting Game.
Her simple but effective advice is to practice something for 40 days to be excellent at it. The joy of the effort, Alma says, helps you enjoy the result.
One Alma’s many golden nuggets from this episode? Do the inner work to create an abundance mindset. I encourage you to do the same by asking yourself, what’s my intention?

[00:01:44] I've been there, and I get it. This podcast is here to change that every week. If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and start making real progress, then you are in the right place.
[00:02:08] This is the Stern Truth. All right. Welcome back everyone to the Stern Truth Business Unfiltered, and we have a special guest this week. I'd like to introduce you to Alma. Alma, how are you doing?
[00:02:24] Alma Tarelli: I'm good, thank you. Thank you for having me, Marshall. And I love the name of the podcast, the Stern Truth.
[00:02:31] Marshall Stern: Business Unfiltered.
[00:02:32] Alma Tarelli: Business Unfiltered. Yes. And thank you for having me here.
[00:02:36] Marshall Stern: My pleasure. And it is going to be – there's going to be some Stern Truths talked about today and definitely unfiltered. Because we know business in life is unfiltered and it happens. So maybe just so our listeners can understand, get to know you a little bit more, tell us who are you and what do you do?
[00:02:56] Alma Tarelli: My name is Alma. I’ll start the whole introduction and I'm an accountant. I've been an accounting for 23 years right now. And I worked for the Canada Revenue Agency before and because I've had so much experience with clients from different backgrounds, five, six, and seven figure entrepreneurs, I started notice all the patterns in my clients.
[00:03:22] I become quite passionate about the mindset because I could see the difference. There are certain money manners. When it comes to successful entrepreneurs, and we have talked about this before together, and so I became passionate, like this is right now is a culmination of 23 years experience with clients one-on-one and with mindset.
[00:03:46] And I'm passionate about money, mindset and energetic readings with business because there is a blend between the practical, the energetic, and the mindset. So. I'm a mentor and I'm also a tax accountant. I mentioned earlier that I'm still during tax season now till June 15. I've had a great tax season.
[00:04:16] And I am passionate, helping people, and I believe that I have lots of good things to offer and it comes from my personal experience. And you probably know Marshall, that I was born and grew up in Albania. So lots of scarcity mindset when it comes to abundance money, the way you grew up. I grew up with lots of fear and so on, and I've done lots of work, so now I feel like I have.
[00:04:44] Quite a bit to give to offer. Because I've done lots of inner work, lots of strategy work and again, being exposed to so many different levels of income. I deduct very well where people are.
[00:05:01] Alma Tarelli: If you'd be my clients, you would be a little bit scared. I'm joking here. If you'd come to the office, I would directly see what's your level of income.
[00:05:11] Only by the first three sentences or the body language. Would you be surprised if I tell you, and I'm quite accurate because I play with my mind, I'm like, what's the level? Like if someone comes and complain and gossip and just in general, I would know exactly the level of income that they have.
[00:05:29] Marshall Stern: You know what? I actually believe you because I remember you were one of our speakers. It's almost been a year now. Next week will be a year at the ONtrepreneur Growth Summit. Okay. And I remember, you know, we had a lot of really good speakers. But we only had a few powerful speakers. And your talk is a lot about the scarcity and abundance mindset, and I remember just looking around, I mean, I got a lot out of it.
[00:05:55] I remember looking around the room and a lot of people were like, just sort of like, so engaged in what you were talking about. So I do believe, I do believe that.
[00:06:04] Alma Tarelli: And thank you for organizing it. It was such a great experience, even for me and most of the people, they were in the room, they, they reached out lots.
[00:06:11] I have lots of emails from your audience. And, oh, this was so good. And some of them actually asked to, we didn't work exactly, but to collaborate. And thank you for organizing. It was a very well organized event. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to actually, if you organize more, please have me.
[00:06:30] Marshall Stern: Oh no, absolutely. You'd be one of the first to call. So here's the thing. Imagine so, see, I never know where these conversations are going, right? This is the power of it, right? You said quite a few people reached out to you. Something held them back from working with you, and I'm assuming like they reached out to you, not for you to be their accountant per se, but on the money mindset.
[00:06:55] But something held them back. I'm wondering, some of them are listening to this, it's almost a year now by the time this podcast comes out, it'll be over a year. What if they actually had start to work with you? Imagine what might be different.
[00:07:09] Alma Tarelli: That's such a wonderful question. And I do believe for the one that you're saying held back or the people that you reached, what is it, that you wanted to me to share?
[00:07:20] The people that reached?
[00:07:21] Marshall Stern: Well, no, I'm saying like, so some people reached out to you. But they decided now was not the timeless necessarily maybe to work with you. But what if for those people who reached out and said, no, not right now. If they had said yes, imagine where they might be now.
[00:07:37] Alma Tarelli: Right. That's a a great question. Yes. Because here's what it is. There are lots of people that the idea is that, oh, maybe I will do it later. Yes, that's some great points, but I'm not ready to jump in. 99% of people are like that. They put it in hold. They live in pending or waiting mode. And 365 days or one year, it goes by so fast.
[00:08:04] They're still, I bet that they're still in the position that they are. And again, this is with lots of love. I'm not diminishing anyone when you say you're still in the same position, but I'm such a firm believer of the, of the inner work and personal development. Like, I can offer you what can, I can see, I work with some wonderful clients for six months because.
[00:08:26] The changes don't happen overnight. You need at least three to six months to be aware, to see the patterns, do some inner work, and then to activate. And so you're, if you are still in the same level, please reach out and not to me, but to any mentor that you feel aligned with, ask yourself. Is she speaking the truth?
[00:08:46] Can I work with her? You would have the inner gut, so the, the whole inner intuition, the whole idea that I actually love about is that I'm sharpening the intuition. I know right away if this is good or not. Just ask yourself, you would feel it. Is this a good thing for me? Can she actually help me?
[00:09:07] And again, when we talk about mindset and transformation, so that I do that, I just show you what, where are the patterns and the blocks so you can work, you empower. You empower you. I'm here to hold the space for you, but we also go with my clients. We also go in because of my accounting, we also go in strategies.
[00:09:26] I did have a client that was doing well with in crypto and, and lost quite a bit after. And so I jumped in and I said, this is what's happening from the tax perspective. You'll be charged this amount and so on. But also from your mindset, where is the block now? You reached to a certain point, you started losing it again.
[00:09:47] Lots of people that they're dealing with self-worth and if they don't deserve money and so on. It's a large topic, but in, in bottom line is going back to what you said, don't waste any more minutes. Like we have a, like, a timeline here. You know, you are going to leave whatever is the amount. You cannot buy the time if you are mindful and you have intentions.
[00:10:12] You would know where to put your mind. Where are you putting your mind? If you're putting your mind 24/7, that I don't know if I can do it. I'm not worthy of doing it. If your mind goes on and on and on, you're losing the time. Please take that mind back. Be intentional with your mind, with your time, and work with someone.
[00:10:30] Marshall Stern: I don't know what to say to that. Like that, that's everything. That's what this whole podcast is about. That's why I coach and mentor entrepreneurs. That's why I wanted you on this podcast. It's what this podcast is for, is getting people off of the sidelines and into the game. Right? It's ironic, you know, you just, first off, people can, if they haven't, go back and listen to speaking to the listeners now.
[00:10:52] Go back. I highly encourage you go back to listen to episode six because it's all about “I will win.”.
[00:10:57] Marshall Stern: Because everybody out there, so many people out there. Yeah, I will win. I'll get a coach or mentor or I'll work on my mindset. I'll reach out to Alma, I'll do this. I'll hire marketing person when I'll hire this employee.
[00:11:12] When, when, what?
[00:11:14] Alma Tarelli: That's right.
[00:11:15] Marshall Stern: Have enough money.
[00:11:17] Marshall Stern: So that's what a lot of the answers are. Like that's usually the answer I get. I will win when I have enough money.
[00:11:23] Marshall Stern: When I have enough clients.
[00:11:25] Marshall Stern: That in itself. I want to hear from you. When someone says, I will win, I have enough money. Tell me a little bit more about that from, the mindset standpoint.
[00:11:38] Alma Tarelli: And such a great question.
[00:11:41] And you mentioned that before. It is like the waiting, you are waiting for someone. You are waiting for money. You are waiting for the right time. You are waiting. So you are pausing. Actually you are. This is the, the worst to be. If you take a decision taken, no. Yes. So most of the successful entrepreneurs they have this, would you like to work?
[00:12:01] And they have the answer right away. They don't think a lot. They say yes or no, I'm not aligned. And then based on the answer they gave, they adjust their action later. The unsuccessful people, 90% of them is like, I will think. See again to the mind, I will think, and the mind will tell you a different story every single time you check.
[00:12:24] And it'll keep you small because that's the job. The ego keeps you small, and also you are waiting. So this is the worst to be in the middle. I give a yes or a no. So sharpen your intuition so you know. If you're waiting, you'd wait your whole life. And, and this is not in regards to money, it's in everything, in relationship, your health.
[00:12:46] Let me check. So people do these little things. Oh, I heard that I can do, I can buy this vitamin. I heard that I can do this with little things. It does not work like that. If you want change, you have to be serious about that and you go full in. I'll do it. Regarding that I understand people say, well, but I don't have money to, you know, to get a coach or, or mentoring on.
[00:13:12] And I do understand that, but in the moment that you move the limiting belief around that, even if I, myself, when I had a coach, I actually, I couldn't afford at the time, we're talking 10 years ago. That was the best investment that I've done because right after that, I doubled the income because you change yourself.
[00:13:31] You're in a different position. You are like, I am doing that for myself. I'm getting better. You're feeling more empowered. That would be reflected in all areas of your life. And I'm not saying, okay, this is the only way to do people. They do affirmation, they do books, they do all kinds of things. If you are looking for something.
[00:13:51] Personal and deeply transformative. This is the way to do you need someone to keep you accountable for what you're doing, right? So don't wait. Just take a decision, even if it's not okay. You'll have after two, three years, something else that will come your way. You can get that opportunity. But make a decision.
[00:14:12] Don't stay in the waiting game.
[00:14:14] Marshall Stern: So one of the things that I, and I'll say it in the intro to this episode, I usually say to my listeners for every time, whether it's just me on the podcast or bringing on an amazing guest like yourself, it's, my father used to say to me, listen for the one golden nugget.
[00:14:31] All it takes is one, you don't have to, like, everyone thinks they go to a seminar or whatever and they read a book, they watch a podcast or YouTube thing or whatever, and they got to have all the stuff and or take a program and they got to have all those, all these action steps and everything, just one. One golden nugget and you take action on it.
[00:14:47] And, I'm highly encouraging, and I'll, again, I'll say this in the in, in the intro to this podcast for you, for everyone listening or watching out there, I want you to really listen to what we're talking about here. I want you to listen and hear. Not just listen, but hear what Alma is saying about money, about mindset, about not moving forward.
[00:15:09] I can't remember the term you used, but almost like when you say that you're stuck, you're holding yourself, you're stopping yourself. I will win.
[00:15:18] Alma Tarelli: So you have such a great insight when you say that just one, get one golden nugget and, and practice that. But also you know that already, that I actually listen to the words that people say.
[00:15:32] So if you say, I'll wait. That's what you're going to, you are training your mind to wait forever. Yeah. If you say, let me think, you are doing more thinking about that and now productive. You say, well, but I need more money. So these words are, first of all, they create your reality. We know that from the, the mindset perspective, but als0 you are giving it power you need.
[00:15:55] Most of the business entrepreneurs are into this mindset. I need more clients. I need more money. That's all you are going to be doing. You are going to need clients and money all your life. So take, like you said, take one thing and say, aha, that aha moment. Practice that only. At least for 40 days.
[00:16:14] I have this belief in me that magic happen when you have 40 days. You know, I relate it with the energetic per perspective. You know, if someone dies, you need 40 days to grieve. Even for the babies when they're born 40 days. So I was sharing that the other day with my daughter. I said, she's a very good basketball player.
[00:16:33] And she wants to be excellent at it. And I'm like, Mela, you should practice that daily, that “I'm good at that”. And at least for 40 days. And now she's, I remember saying, okay, my 40 days is not up. So, I'm saying this as a joke, but you need to practice anything. You need to practice for a period of time till your body and mind listen.
[00:16:56] Marshall Stern: 40 days.
[00:16:57] Alma Tarelli: Yes. It's magical. I believe that. Magic even. My yogi, one of the oldest yogi when I first started yoga and meditation. It's like you need 40 days because you know how we, we started journey after two, three days, it plateau. Or we, what we do with the goals in the beginning of the year, after two, three days, you know, you don't have that motivation again because the mind, like, kicks in.
[00:17:24] So you need 40 days to embody whatever comes from you. A good idea. You need 40 days to work with it. And after a week, it gets a little bit repetitive. You don't start feeling uncomfortable. Once you pass that moment, you need 40 days. I got it. I believe that. And, and even with my clients, I said, okay, we can have a session one-on-one.
[00:17:46] And the reason why I work at least for six weeks, that is the reason why you need 40 days to embody this concept. Whatever concept you are doing just a little thing, start for four days and you'll see. There's not an overnight Marshall. That's the, not an overnight when it comes to this thing.
[00:18:05] There's not an overnight.
[00:18:07] Marshall Stern: That's the problem out there. There's so much.
[00:18:10] Alma Tarelli: Yeah.
[00:18:10] Marshall Stern: You know? I was an overnight success, you know, invest, you know, $10,000 from my program and, you know, 10 x 20 x your business, you'll get a 6, 7, 8 figure business in like, you know, six months or whatever. And it's like, it.
[00:18:25] Alma Tarelli: So see here's before I.
[00:18:28] Alma Tarelli: Before we go to the other question. I do have a problem with this because social media has glamorized entrepreneurship. Remember last talk we had together, we're talking about yacht and people, saying all these kind of things and, and the freedom and the lifestyle and it's okay.
[00:18:50] You can see that, but you don't see the amount of the work that went behind that, the fears that you had to overcome, the late night that you had to work. People, they don't see that. You see the cake. You think that it's just done. You did all, all the work behind it. So don't see the, the glamor in the social media, right?
[00:19:11] Marshall Stern: So, no, everything you're saying, like this is like, we're very aligned. That's why I brought you on. Right? So everything you're saying is like, so spot on to what I, we talk about on the podcast and the reason because it's true, and a lot of people don't talk about this enough, and so I met my mentor, John Maxwell, I certified like back in 2011 or 2012 as one of his leadership coaches.
[00:19:35] And when I met him for the first time in Florida, I remember him telling a story and that happened at that weekend conference. And he said someone, and he'd written at that point, like I think 92 books. And he is this famous, like a big leadership guru around the world and whatnot, and someone came up to him and said, John, I want to be just like you one day.
[00:19:58] I want to be just like you. And he says, great. Then you're going to have to do what I did. You're going to have to get up in the morning, you're going to have to get up early. You're going to have to write five hours a day, publish 92 books, travel the world, develop this, blah, blah, blah. You want to be like me? Then you got to do what I did right.
[00:20:19] Now, obviously you don't do exactly that, but the idea is you just see the overnight success thing or whatever. There's a term, there's a phrase, you know, it took me all my life to become an overnight success.
[00:20:29] Alma Tarelli: That's right. Yes. Yes. So it's a powerful what you shared. And because people see only the finishing product, they do not see the work that goes under it.
[00:20:40] Marshall Stern: Well, these, okay, so you talk about your daughter, right? So she's a teenager, I think.
[00:20:43] Alma Tarelli: Yes.
[00:20:45] Alma Tarelli: This is my youngest, yes.
[00:20:47] Marshall Stern: Okay, so my daughter's about to graduate from university this summer, well in the fall, but finishing the summer and you know, they always talk about like college graduates.
[00:20:57] You know, you stand up there and you got your diploma, your high school diploma or university degree or whatever you have, and it's like, I'm successful. I succeeded, I got my degree. But the success was every single day you got up and you went to class or you studied and you busted your butt just like in business, right?
[00:21:16] The degree is sort of the cherry on top. That's the reward for all the successes along the way. And the problem with, I'm preaching to the choir. The problem with people these days is that they just want that cherry, they want, I always say, it's like we live in a, I always my kids, our kids live in an Amazon world now world. Pick up your phone. You get it sometimes. Same day.
[00:21:44] Alma Tarelli: It's a great point what you say. I also, when I talk with my children, I said, because, you know, the glamor, they see Instagram, TikTok, and all that. But even for entrepreneurs, if someone will give you like $10 million right now without any effort, I guarantee you won’t to enjoy it, right?
[00:22:02] It's all the process of making, covering, covering yourself that it's worth in this life. Nothing that is like without effort or action. It is enjoyed. So it is on you making. Yes, I did it. You know, you put, my daughter also finished university this year, and I'm so happy 90%. I'm like, yay. A proud mama and all that.
[00:22:26] The late nights that she have stayed the amount of coffee and sometimes I should call, it’s 2:00 AM and she's still in the library. So it is not like, okay, she had, like, you know, she reached here because no effort. It's like your effort, what you're putting, your energy that you're putting in the work that, that you see it.
[00:22:48] Marshall Stern: Well, I would, I agree and I know what you're saying, but this is the Stern Truth. So my Stern Truth is if I've got 10 million, if you gave me $10 million, I would enjoy it. And I'll tell you why I enjoy it. It's not like I wouldn't enjoy it by going the yachts or the traveling the world. I might enjoy travelling the world, but for a short period of time, I love doing what I'm doing.
[00:23:06] So what I would enjoy it for is I enjoy giving it away.
[00:23:10] Alma Tarelli: Wow. Do you want to go down this road? Even if you had $10 million, if your brain, first of all, if your brain is not wired for that. You are going to lose it. First of all, they have done an experiment here, I think in Vancouver or New York several years ago that they gave to a homeless person.
[00:23:29] And again, with lots of love, I'm not degrading anyone. $1 million. The guy didn't know what to do. He bought cars for all his friend. After six months, he was again in the street. Why? Because the brain was not wire read for that. I do understand what you're saying, that, I don't want to come grom the point that Oh yeah, don't make it so hard.
[00:23:49] If you're giving money, I would enjoy life. However, I do want to say that if you are living only for the money in this life, it is a poor life. It is really important, but it is a poor life. And I see the patterns with people working only for money. Doing only for money. It is a poor life. You share your service.
[00:24:12] You share what you have to offer. But if you do it only for money, like, I know people that they, they consider money as a game. That is totally different level what we're talking, we're talking for everyday people. For people like us, you work, you have money, but if you make money center of everything, it's a lost game.
[00:24:34] Marshall Stern: I again, I agree a hundred percent. A hundred percent. And I used to work for, back in the day, BC Lottery Corporation.
[00:24:40] Marshall Stern: Back in the nineties. And I remember I asked the PR person, the public relations person, you know, we see the, you know, when they win their like $20 million lottery and they have the check or whatever, you know, that's great, but why don't we do a follow up, you know, five years later, two years later, and he goes, Marshall, you don't want to.
[00:24:59] Alma Tarelli: Ah, see? See?
[00:25:00] Marshall Stern: You don't want to know.
[00:25:06] Alma Tarelli: The nervous system, you're not used to that. You don't know what to do. You do all the things that you think you know about freedom and all that, and, yeah, you lose it. And also you would have a nervous breakdown if you did, if you did not prepare for that.
[00:25:20] Right?
[00:25:21] Marshall Stern: No, a hundred percent. So, okay. So I'm curious, what I would say, what's a belief or pattern that you had, that you had to release in order for your business to get to the point where it is like today? Something that maybe was holding you back.
[00:25:42] Alma Tarelli: Many, I had many patterns growing up.
[00:25:46] Coming from a communist country where you see my parents worked very hard. Me and my husband worked very hard. My sisters, brother, everyone worked so hard. We did not see success because we were working hard for surviving, so we were in survival mode for such a long time. One of the most limiting beliefs that I had, but also most of people had, is work hard to have success.
[00:26:14] You'll have success when you are aligned and you are living from your heart. If you are living from survival, you are working hard. You are just in the misery pot, I call it. So the way I grew up was that the more miserable and poor you are, the more virtuous you are. So this was one that had to break.
[00:26:34] It was early on when I was doing, as a matter of fact, some inner child work, and I started crying because the working hard, and I'm not saying not to work hard. You have to work. Apparently it's the action that you bring into the world, but it doesn't bring success if you are not aligned. This is one and the other one is that most of the.
[00:26:55] Entrepreneurs, and myself included, was that we confuse self-worth with a service. This is maybe the biggest one that I have seen in 23 years in accounting. Most of the people put the price based on their worth. And here's the truth, the Stern Truth, you are never going to overpass in abundance, your self-worth.
[00:27:21] So the more self-worth you have, the more abundant you'll be. Again, your money will never surpass your self-worth. From the energetic perspective. If you divide the self-worth with a value, it'll do wonders to you. And what do I mean by that? Self-worth? In the moment that you feel worthy of this life, you came into this world, you are here.
[00:27:45] God, universe brought you here. You are worthy of living. Now if you distinguish your self worth with a value. It would be very beneficial because the moment that you feel low and unworthy, the business will go low. However, if you have the value on the service, see, I've been in accounting for 23 years.
[00:28:06] I can do stuff with my closed eyes. It doesn't have to do anything with myself worth right now, because I have done that work. But most of the entrepreneurs, they operate from this. In the days that you feel low unseen, invisible, then your business goes down because you are connecting the service that you have to offer with your self-worth.
[00:28:29] So you've been in the business for so long, you have had some great mentors. You do wonderful things with the group that I have, I have been unseen. In the days that you feel low, you still have the value for what you share.
[00:28:41] Marshall Stern: Yeah.
[00:28:42] Alma Tarelli: So distinguishing these two, this was one of the main obstacles that I had. I would confuse my self-worth constantly with the value that I offer.
[00:28:52] So these two, the working hard was one. The second one was feeling unworthy. Especially if you grew up with lots of patterns and I'm telling you about myself. I had had a load of limiting beliefs with me that I carry all my life, even when I came in Canada and the moment that I dropped this bag that I had, that things started getting better.
[00:29:17] I don't want to go in details, but I mentioned that before, that most of the beliefs that we have around money, around relationship, about. Around self worth. It is formed in a seven, six, or seven years of our life as a child, right, all when all the chakras are formed. And so you are like that white blank sheet and people put marble, charcoal, put everything.
[00:29:39] Then you get that and you carry it with you. The moment that you drop some of that, then you start aligning yourself and you discover what does your soul and spirit want. And so I won't go in details about it, but clearing the patterns. I also have done lots of ancestral work, family constellation and all that, clearing the patterns and I could see, I do most of the things, as my mom.
[00:30:05] Like in that poverty mindset or even if I had, something, we would gain money, both me and my husband actually, the moment that we had money, we would help our family back home, which is totally fine, but we did not have a container for ourselves. So I'm just sharing this. I'm being vulnerable, saying that the patterns that you have growing up till to this moment, you carry it when you, and so the mindset becomes very interesting because we work with, whatever you gain the first seven years, then you have modeling.
[00:30:40] Which one do you model? You have genetic material from your parents. You cannot deny that. I have a client says I'm nothing like my mother. Okay, fine. And then as soon as you share about the story, then. Her mother was divorced. She also was divorced. And I'm not saying that again in a bad connotation.
[00:30:57] I'm just saying like you mirror the problems that you experienced as a child feeling abundant. You carry it in your marriage. So the faster you work with your energetic body and your mindset, the better it would be. And again, everything that happens, I do believe that this is an invite for you to work with something.
[00:31:16] Any trigger that you have, relationship, money, career, any trigger that you have, it is an invite for you to see, okay, what is the belief that I'm carrying? Why is this showing again in my life? Because that's what the ego and the mental body operates this way that. You experience something and it was highly charged, it'll show up again and again and again till you clear.
[00:31:41] The moment that you clear it won't repeat. If you do not, you are not aware of it, it'll repeat. That's was, for me, working hard, working hard. That's what I saw, right? Feeling unworthy. Feeling unworthy. Till you work with it and you say, God did not bring me here to feel unworthy or, or unseen.
[00:32:00] You know, I'm a child of God. I say that every day actually, by the grace of God. It has nothing to do with my work. What I offer is 23 years of experience, a large library, all kinds of workshop, doing inner work, child work, doing mental work, doing, now alchemizing, doing activation calls.
[00:32:23] You know, it's like a, a big thing that you have to do, in other words, but my point is that the faster that you are aware of the patterns, the better it is. As a matter of fact, if you pay attention to your body language, the way you speak, the way you think, your life will change 180 degrees.
[00:32:42] It is simple, but it's difficult. Just say, I catch myself several times. Why am I triggered by my child? Or why am I doing that right now? My mom used to do that. We, which is genetic material. It's floating in the air, right? So, and again, not blaming them, may God bless them what they have done, but, and my point is that, if you really want to, to be a soulful entrepreneur and live from the heart, you have to do some work.
[00:33:11] That's it.
[00:33:12] Marshall Stern: So before we go. I have one question for you. Well, two questions. So I want to know how people can get in touch with you. We'll put your info in the show notes as well. But is there like a easy way for people to get in touch with you if they want to?
[00:33:26] Alma Tarelli: I'm in Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram.
[00:33:28] I do have a website, almatarelli.com. And I will share this with you because I've noticed with most of entrepreneurs, they think that, okay, I have this service and that's it. You are evolving. We are all evolving. You have evolved right from the first time that I've seen you, all the products that you have right now.
[00:33:49] So my website is still constructing, still changing. It is the fifth time I started as a tax accountant. Then, I was into breath work and, and all that. And so now it's more energetic, aligned, and I'm saying that you don't have to all figure it out. We are evolving and most of the entrepreneurs, if they hear that it's okay to evolve.
[00:34:10] So I have the website, it's in my name. It's still evolving and changing as we all are.
[00:34:15] Marshall Stern: No, I love that. And, but the, the other thing before I ask the final question is, and we'll put all the links in the show notes. You've said this several times throughout the last half hour we've been on, on the call together.
[00:34:27] The word “work”. It takes work. It's the inner work. It's the outer work, but it's work and, money, working on our mindset, whether it's money, mindset, or any other just mindset, period. It all takes work and a lot of people, I think, think – goes back and we have a whole session about that and I'm going to be talking about it, but like, they just go onto Facebook or Instagram or whatever and they just see these gurus. And these like, you know, all seven figure eight, figure your business and all this kind of stuff.
[00:35:00] It's so easy. Click here, whatever. And they think that it's going to do the work for them. And it all takes work. Everybody wants the easy way. Right. That's sort of the, what do you call it? The silver bullet or the magic pill.
[00:35:16] Alma Tarelli: Mm-hmm.
[00:35:17] Marshall Stern: And there's no magic.
[00:35:18] Alma Tarelli: There is no magic pill.
[00:35:19] Marshall Stern: It takes work.
[00:35:20] An intentional work. Intentional deep work.
[00:35:24] Alma Tarelli: There is no magic work. And again, don't glamorize the social media. And it's good that it's not, there is no magic bullet in it. It's very good because we are all becoming and changing if things will be. Sometimes I give this example and I get so passionate about it.
[00:35:44] I'm to my children. If you had every single thing in life, would you be motivated? They say no. Can you smile or laugh 24/7 and consider that as happy? No, you live by contrast, right? There is a contrast to that and also the beauty of life is making it becoming the action. So many people have so many ideas.
[00:36:08] They never see the light of the day. Why? Because they don't have enough energy to bring it to action. So action. It's actually beautiful because it is the way body speaks, the mind speaks with ideas, right? The emotion speak by feeling good and not feeling good. The body speaks through action, and so by you taking the action.
[00:36:28] It's the beauty of life. Don't look at what other people do and say it. Just do the inner work and see, what does your body would like to bring in this life. I'm passionate also about writing. Marshall, I don't know if you know that or not. I published a gratitude journal a while ago and I'm also right now writing a book.
[00:36:51] By myself, no ChatGPT involved. 10 areas of life that you can be successful in. This is all from my experience, what I have seen, successful clients, they manage their mindset, their time. It's not only the strategies because you think that, okay, I'll gain a little bit strategy and my life will change.
[00:37:13] The strategies help. By no means, I'm not saying no, but it is in several areas. It's not only one. You have to take care of mental body, emotional body, or physical body to succeed. Right? It doesn't happen in one thing. There is not a magic bullet and it's okay, and that's fine. You don't want to be an overnight success, trust me.
[00:37:33] It is the making, the becoming uncovering. Yes. It's so beautiful when you leave with this in mind sometimes I'm like, okay buddy. What would you like to experience today? Or my inner child. What would you like to experience then? Sometimes I would drop everything, take my kids and go to a park.
[00:37:50] And that's all I do. And again, if you are aligned right, or I feel like, you know, even with a business, what would you like to do now? And I'm not saying only being motivated or not, you have to be consistent. By no mean, I'm not saying. But just take a look from a different perspective. Just take a look from this, not only doing, doing a balance between the two.
[00:38:13] The action but aligned one. Right.
[00:38:16] Marshall Stern: I like that. I like that. Okay. Final question before we go. Because we could talk here forever. I'm going to have to have you, I'm going to have to have you back. We'll go into even deeper. What would one, talk about golden nuggets. What would be one golden nugget that you could give our listeners, people who maybe they've been in business for 5, 10, 15 years or longer, or maybe they're newer in business. and they're just.
[00:38:39] Sort of quite not, not where they really want to be right now. What's one golden nugget you can get them? Maybe they're struggling.
[00:38:47] Alma Tarelli: Ah, such a great question. One single thing, how can I narrow it? Is like, do the inner work again. Just do the inner work, and you'll see that the more you turn inward, the better you reflect on the outer.
[00:39:05] In the business, in the relationship in yourself. Just do the inward turn inward everyday, turn inward, and intention also. This is very important. What is your intention in doing something? Are you doing something for money only? Again, it's a poor mindset. Would you question? Because here the mind has stories, right?
[00:39:31] The mind has stories. Constantly from the past and also the anxiety for the future. If you're present, you ask question. The mind has hard time with questions, so when you question yourself, you question your mind and the ego. So the data that you had from previous life or this life or whatever. So asking question, what is my intention for the business?
[00:39:53] What is my intention of this meeting today? What is my intention of, you know, with my children, with my family, just asking simple question daily would do wonders for you. And then certain times I catch myself that, well, you cannot do that because you do have the pattern. I actually can hear that. Oh, that's my pattern.
[00:40:13] Okay, good. I haven't learned that yet. So the more question that you ask, the honest question, the vulnerable question, the better it is. And just do the inner work turn inward. What is the block? If you want to reach something, what is the block? 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 figure entrepreneurs, they all have blocks because it's a journey.
[00:40:33] You come to a certain point and you have a block. Your job is to remove the block. You go to the next level, you have another block. You are, so, it's like a journey of becoming, doing and undoing. It's a messy, messy role, but it's beautiful. That's what I would say. It's beautiful, right? It’s perfect.
[00:40:50] Do you want the life to be like a lie like this? It's only when you are dead. You know? When you, when you're dead. Life is like this, a line you don't want, you want it up and down and the contrast and it's beautiful. Becoming an unbecoming.
[00:41:05] Marshall Stern: I got, I'll say it. That was beautiful. I mean that's, it's so true.
[00:41:08] So I'm going to leave it up with that because that's what it's all about. Those are really, really good golden nuggets. Not just one, there's several golden nuggets actually. There's been a lot of gold nuggets. So thank you so much for being our guest here today and we're going to have to have you back.
[00:41:24] Alma Tarelli: Thank you so much for having me, Marshall, and I wish all your audience prosperity, abundance, love, and light in their life.
